Local, Head of Marketing

Facebook seeks an experienced marketing manager who is passionate about social media and has the ability to play a leadership role in shaping the future of marketing for local businesses. 
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in driving marketing programs in the online SMB or consumer space.

The Head of Marketing for Local will help shape Facebook’s strategy in this changing advertising landscape and support Facebook’s growth through effective and results-focused marketing campaigns. This is a full-time position based in our headquarters in Palo Alto, California.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all current efforts on local marketing are measured and have success metrics against them
  • Set clear, measurable targets for local marketing initiatives and hold the team accountable for hitting them
  • Ideate, develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive Facebook’s local marketing business - focus on both user and business acquisition and engagement
  • Be a thought partner for the Local Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing and Ops teams to help define our overall Local strategy and execution
  • Drive the creation of all online and offline collateral to support our Local business
  • Develop thought-leadership materials designed to enhance our users’, advertisers’, partners’ and the industry’s understanding of Local as it related to social media
  • Work across Marketing and Product Management to define and align goals, priorities and execution paths
  • Execute bold new ideas from start to finish
Requirements
  • BA required. Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ideally 8+ years professional experience, including experience in world-class online SMB or consumer marketing. This should be focused on channels like email, sem and seo
  • Ideally specific experience working with 100ks of local businesses online globally
  • Strong strategic thinker with successful experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to translate complexity into simple and intuitive communications
  • Creative flair to bring fresh ideas to marketing campaigns
  • Proven track record of success working cross-functionally
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
